    Sujet
Protein phosphatase 1 alpha(PP1A)is one of four major serine/threonine-specific protein phosphatases which have been identified in eukaryotic cells by enzymatic methods. Phosphorylation of serine and threonine residues in proteins is a crucial step in the regulation of many cellular functions ranging from hormonal regulation to cell division and even short-term memory. Protein phosphatase-1 determined the efficacy of learning and memory by limiting acquisition and favoring memory decline. PPP1A gene is mapped to 11q13. Protein phosphatase 1 is a molecular constraint on learning and memory.Synonyms: PP-1A, PPP1A, Serine/threonine-protein phosphatase PP1-alpha catalytic subunit
