Sujet
- Human Cytomegalovirus (HCMV) glycoprotein B (gB) is an abundant virion envelope protein that has been shown to be essential for the infectivity of HCMV. HCMV gB is also one of the most immunogenic virus-encoded proteins, and a significant fraction of virus neutralizing antibodies are directed at gB. Glycoprotein B (gB) is the main antigenic protein within the envelope of HCMV. It is required for CMV mediated membrane fusion along with the gH/gL complex. The unprocessed precursor of HCMV gB is 906 amino acids in length, wit a MW of approximately 100 kDa.Synonyms: Cytomegalovirus, Glycoprotein B, HCMV, HHV5, UL55
