Sandwich ELISA: To detect Human Galectin-1 (using 100 μL/well antibody solution) aconcentration of 0.5-2.0 μg/mL of this antibody is required. This antigen affinity purifiedantibody, in conjunction with Biotinylated Anti-Human Galectin-1 (PP1223B1 and PP1223B2)as a detection antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2-0.4 ng/well of recombinantHuman Galectin-1. Western Blot: To detect Human Galectin-1 by this analysis, the antibody can be used at aconcentration of 0.1-0.2 μg/mL. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagentsthe detection limit for recombinant hGalectin-1 is 1.5-3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing ornon-reducing conditions.
Other applications not tested.
Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user. -

Sujet
- The galectins are a family of beta-galactoside-binding proteins implicated in modulating cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions. Galectin 1 may act as an autocrine negative growth factor that regulates cell proliferation. It also may regulate cell apoptosis and cell differentiation. It binds beta-galactoside, CD45, CD3 and CD4. Galectin 1 inhibits CD45 protein phosphatase activity and therefore the dephosphorylation of Lyn kinase. It is found in cardiac, smooth, and skeletal muscle, neurons, thymus, kidney, placenta and hematopoietic cells.Synonyms: 14 kDa lectin, Beta-galactoside-binding lectin L-14-I, Galaptin, Galectin1, HBL, HPL, LGALS1, Lactose-binding lectin 1, Lectin galactoside-binding soluble 1, MAPK-activating protein PM12, S-Lac lectin 1
