ELISA: Indirect: To detect hBD-1 (using 100 μL/well antibody solution) a concentration of0.5 - 2.0 μg/mL of this antibody is required. This In conjunction with compatible secondaryreagents, it allows the detection of at least 0.2 - 0.4 ng/well of recombinant hBD-1. Sandwich: To detect hBD-1 (using 100 μL/well antibody solution) a concentration of0.5 - 2.0 μg/mL of this antibody is required. In conjunction with Biotinylated Anti-HumanBD-1 as a detection antibody, it allows the detection of at least 0.2 - 0.4 ng/well ofrecombinant hBD-1. Western blot: To detect hBD-1 this antibody can be used at a concentration of0.1 - 0.2 μg/mL. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents the detectionlimit for recombinant hBD-1 is 1.5 - 3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducingconditions.

Sujet
- Defensins form a family of microbicidal and cytotoxic peptides made by neutrophils. Members of the defensin family are highly similar in protein sequence. This gene encodes defensin, beta 1, an antimicrobial peptide implicated in the resistance of epithelial surfaces to microbial colonization. This gene maps in close proximity to defensin family member, defensin, alpha 1 and has been implicated in the pathogenesis of cystic fibrosis. The mature form of Beta defensin 1 is 36 amino acids.Synonyms: BD-1, BD1, Beta-defensin 1, DEFB1, DEFB101, HBD1, hBD-1
