Sujet
- Histones H3.X and H3.Y are primate-specific variants of histone H3. H3.X and H3.Y are roughly 80 % conserved compared to histone H3.3 The H3.Y protein is highly expressed in several primary cell lines, cancer cell lines and human brain. Expression of histone H3.Y is induced by stress. Exogenously expressed H3.X and H3.Y are efficiently incorporated into chromatin and exhibit dynamics similar to canonical histone H3. Knockdown of H3.Y results in slowed growth and altered expression of cell cycle related genes.
