Sujet
- WT1 encodes multiple isoforms of a zinc finger transcription factor essential for correct mammalian urogenital development. Different WT1 isoforms are thought to regulate transcription and participate in mRNA processing, functions reflected by a complex sub nuclear distribution. In humans, the preservation of the correct isoform ratio and their localization has been reported to be vital, and its disruption to result in disease. This gene has been reported as a useful marker for several types of illnesses. Mutations in this gene lead to the development of Wilm's Tumor, a sporadic and familial childhood kidney tumor.Synonyms: WT33
