Background: Chaperone that expresses an ATPase activity. Involved in maintaining mitochondrial function and polarization, most likely through stabilization of mitochondrial complex I. The impact of TRAP1 on mitochondrial respiration is probably mediated by modulation of mitochondrial SRC and inhibition of SDHA.
