Other studies reveal that GPR126 is essential for myelination of axons in the peripheral nervous system and the heart2.Known ligands of GPCR126 are type IV collagen (COLIV) in peripheral nerves and inner ear development, Laminin-211 during Schwann cell development, and prion protein in myelination3, suggesting that GPR126 could use different signaling pathways in different tissues4.
