Specificité: This antibody recognises α1β2γ2 GABA-A receptor which is found in up to 50 % of the synapses in the brain. It's ligand, GABA is a major inhibitory transmitter in the nervous system, binds to this receptor and opens a channel permeable to chloride. Disfunctions of GABAR are found in anxiety, neurodevelopmental disorderds and epilepsy.

Indications d'application: FSEC: High affinity and specificity of the 1F4 antibody to α1β2γ2 GABA-A receptor was demonstrated using fluorescence-detection size exclusion chromatography with GFP-tagged receptor (shift in elution volume) (Zhu et al., 2018). Crystallography: Furthermore, this antibody was utilised in production and purification of the α1β2γ2 GABA-A receptor (Zhu et al., 2018). Finally, Fab fragments derived from the antibody were used to facilitate crystallisation and improve stabilisation of the α1β2γ2 GABA-A receptor (Zhu et al., 2018).

This chimeric rabbit antibody was made using the variable domain sequences of the original Mouse IgG2b format, for improved compatibility with existing reagents, assays and techniques.
