Background: Hydrolyzes specifically phosphatidic acid(PA) to produce 2-acyl lysophosphatidic acid(LPA, a potent bioactive lipid mediator) and fatty acid. Does not hydrolyze other phospholipids, like phosphatidylserine(PS), phosphatidylcholine(PC) and phosphatidylethanolamine(PE) or triacylglycerol(TG).
