Sujet: Background: Serine hydroxymethyltransferase (SHMT2) is the mitochondrial form of a pyridoxal phosphate-dependent enzyme that catalyzes the reversible reaction of serine and tetrahydrofolate to glycine and 5,10-methylene tetrahydrofolate.
