TRIM16/EBBP has been identified as an estrogen and anti-estrogen regulated gene in keratinocytes and may be important for keratinocyte differentiation. Studies show that TRIM16/EBBP also plays a role in interleukin-1beta cytokine secretion and transactivation of the retinoic acid response element beta (betaRARE).
