Sujet
- Background: TRIM (tripartite motif) proteins, also known as RBCC (RING, B-box, coiled-coil) proteins, are defined by the presence of a tripartite structural motif composed of a RING domain, one or two B-box motifs, and a coiled-coil region. TRIM proteins have been found to be involved in a variety of cellular processes such as apoptosis, proliferation, differentiation, and innate immunity. Of these processes, the most intriguing is their involvement in the innate immune response. TRIM25 has been demonstrated to mediate ubiquitination of the cytosolic receptor retinoic acid-inducible gene-I (RIG-I) in response to viral infection.
