Sujet: Background: Importin 7 autonomously mediates the nuclear import of ribosomal proteins RPL23A, RPS7 and RPL5. It binds to a beta-like import receptor binding (BIB) domain of RPL23A. In association with KPNB1 it mediates the nuclear import of H1 histone. In vitro, importin 7 mediates nuclear import of H2A, H2B, H3 and H4 histones. Also, in vitro, it mediates the nuclear import of HIV-1 reverse transcription complex (RTC) integrase and HIF-1 alpha [taken from the Universal Protein Resource (UniProt) ww.uniprot.org/uniprot/O95373].
