Sujet
- DNA (cytosine-5)-methyltransferase 3-like is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the DNMT3L gene. CpG methylation is an epigenetic modification that is important for embryonic development, imprinting, and X-chromosome inactivation. Studies in mice have demonstrated that DNA methylation is required for mammalian development. This gene encodes a nuclear protein that is a catalytically inactive regulatory factor of DNA methyltransferases. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
