SUPT5H positively regulates mRNA capping by stimulating the mRNA guanylyltransferase activity of RNGTT/CAP1A. SUPT5H also acts cooperatively with the negative elongation factor complex (NELF complex) to enhance transcriptional pausing at sites proximal to the promoter.
