    Reconstitution

It is recommended that sterile water be added to the vial to prepare a stock solution of 0.5 mg/mL. Concentration is measured by UV-Vis.

    Buffer

Lyophilized from sterile PBS, pH 7.4.
Normally 5 % -8 % trehalose, mannitol and 0.01 % Tween 80 are added as protectants before lyophilization.

    Stock

    4 °C,-20 °C,-80 °C

    Stockage commentaire

Generally, lyophilized proteins are stable for up to 12 months when stored at -20 to -80°C. Reconstituted protein solution can be stored at 4-8°C for 2-7 days. Aliquots of reconstituted samples are stable at < -20°C for 3 months.

    Sujet

Lactotransferrin is a member of the transferrin family that transfer iron to the cells and control the level of free iron in the blood and external secretions. Lactotransferrin is a secreted protein and contains two transferrin-like domains. Lactotransferrin can be cleaved into the following four chains: Kaliocin-1, Lactoferroxin-A, Lactoferroxin-B, and Lactoferroxin-C. Lactoferroxin A, Lactoferroxin B, and Lactoferroxin C have opioid antagonist activity. Lactoferroxin A shows preference for mu-receptors, while Lactoferroxin B and Lactoferroxin C have somewhat higher degrees of preference for kappa-receptors than for mu-receptors. LTF has antimicrobial activity (bacteriocide, fungicide) and is part of the innate defense, mainly at mucoses.,GIG12,HEL110,HLF2,Kaliocin-1,LF,LTF,Lactoferrin,Lactoferroxin-A,Lactoferroxin-B,Lactoferroxin-C,Lactotransferrin,Talalactoferrin
