Protein Background: MINK1 (Misshapen Like Kinase 1) is a serine/threonine kinase which acts as a negative regulator of Rasrelated Rap2-mediated signal transduction to control neuronal structure and AMPA receptor trafficking. MINK1 is required for normal synaptic density, dendrite complexity, as well as surface AMPA receptor expression in hippocampal neurons. MINK1 can activate the JNK and MAPK14/p38 pathways and mediate stimulation of the stress-activated protein kinase MAPK14/p38 MAPK downstream of the Raf/ERK pathway. Diseases associated with MINK1 include Alzheimer Disease 15 and Shipyard Eye.

Short Description: Recombinant MINK1 (1-320) protein that includes amino acids 1-320 of human MINK1 protein (accession number NP_722549.2) was expressed in a baculovirus expression system and contains an N-terminal FLAG tag. The molecular weight of the protein is 37.7 kDa.
