Specificité: The reactivity of the antiserum is restricted to the Fc portion of the IgG2a molecule. In immunoelectrophoresis and radial immunodiffusion, using various antiserum concentrations against mouse serum of the allelic type Igh-1b, including C57Bl and SJL/J, a single characteristic precipitin line is obtained which shows a reaction of identity with the precipitin line obtained with purified IgG2a(1b). Immunoaffinity adsorbed using insolubilized antigens as required, to eliminate antibodies cross-reacting with other components of the immunoglobulin system or reacting with other serum proteins. Indications d'application: In precipitating techniques as immunoelectrophoresis and radial immunodiffusion to identify the presence of IgG2a (1b) in mouse serum and other body fluids or to determine its concentration. To prepare an immunoadsorbent for the purification of mouse IgG2a (1b) from serum or plasma. This antiserum is not intended for use in non-precipitating antibody-binding or other highly sensitive assays. For such use labelled an unlabelled cytochemical and immunoassay grade reagents meeting the necessary additional specificity an performance requirements are available.
