  • Indications d'application
Flow Cytometry: use 10 μL of 1/10-1/25 diluted antibody to label 10^6 cells in 100 μL. We do not recommend the use of this reagent to stain erythrocytes. Immunohistochemistry on Frozen Sections (1/100-1/1000). Recommended positive control: Human Tonsil. (Successful use in Immunohistochemistry on Paraffin embedded sections (1/50-1/100)using heat treatment for antigen retrieval) was reported by some researchers. As thisdetection method has not been verified by antibodies-online, the application was deletedfrom the database. This does not necessarily exclude the use in such procedure.
    Other applications not tested.
Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.

    Sujet
Avoidance by host tissues of attack by autologous complement proteins is dependent in part on the activities of membrane regulatory factors. One molecule involved in this control is a 70 kD glycoprotein termed decay-accelerating factor (DAF), or CD55. Interruption by CD55 of the complement sequence at an early step in activation effectively halts progression of the cascade and prevents consequent cell injury. In man, CD55 is expressed on the plasma membrane of all cell types that are in intimate contact with plasma complement proteins. This protein recognizes C4b and C3b fragments that condense with cell-surface hydroxyl or amino groups when nascent C4b and C3b are locally generated during C4 and c3 activation. Interaction of daf with cell-associated C4b and C3b polypeptides interferes with their ability to catalyze the conversion of C2 and factor B to enzymatically active C2a and Bb and thereby prevents the formation of C4b2a and C3bBb, the amplification convertases of the complement cascade. CD55 also acts as the receptor for echovirus 7 and related viruses(echoviruses 13, 21, 29 and 33). It is attached to the membrane by a GPI-anchor.Synonyms: Complement decay-accelerating factor
