Specificité
- Recognizes CD257 (otherwise known as BAFF/BLyS), a 285 amino acid type II transmembrane protein and member of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) superfamily of ligands, which acts as a B and T cell stimulator and plays a role in the development of autoimmune diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus. CD257 is expressed by monocytes, macrophages, T cells and dendritic cells and acts through binding to CD267 (TACI), CD269 (BCMA) and CD268 (BAFFR) receptors, the latter interaction playing a critical role in the activation, survival, differentiation and proliferation of B cells.
