Sujet: LDB3 (LIM domain-binding protein 3) may function as an adapter in striated muscle to couple protein kinase C-mediated signaling via its LIM domains to the cytoskeleton. It interactes with various PKC isoforms and with the C-terminal region of ACTN2 via its LIM and PDZ domains respectively. It also interacts with MYOZ1, MYOZ2 and MYOZ3. 6 isoforms are produced by alternative splicing. Defects in LDB3 are a cause of dilated cardiomyopathy 1A, a disorder characterized by cardiac dilation and reduced systolic function, as well as ZASP-related myofibrillar myopathy, an autosomal dominant myopathy that is characterized by distal muscle weakness with signs of cardiomyopathy and neuropathy.Synonyms: KIAA0613, LIM domain-binding protein 3, ZASP
