Fonction
- Pan myristoylation protein is encoded by the MARCKS gene which is approximately 31,6 kDa. It is localised to the cytoplasm. It is involved in the integration of energy metabolism, Fc gamma R-mediated phagocytosis, microRNAs and Ca, cAMP and lipid signalling. It is the most prominent cellular substrate for protein kinase C and is an actin filament crosslinking protein. It is thought to be involved in cell motility, phagocytosis, membrane trafficking and mitogenesis. Pan myristoylation is expressed in the nervous system, liver, lung, skin and heart. Mutations in the MARCKS gene can result in spinocerebellar ataxia and anencephaly. STJ98666 was affinity-purified from rabbit serum by affinity-chromatography using specific immunogen. The antibody detects endogenous pan myristoylation protein.
