AIMP1 is an inflammatory cytokine that is induced by apoptosis. AIMP1 is also involved in the control of angiogenesis, wound healing and it negetively regulates TGF-beta signalling. Diseases associated with AIMP1 include stromal keratitis and leukodystrophy. AIMP1 is expressed in adipose tissue, adrenal cortex, nasopharynx, etc. AIMP1 has two isoforms.
