Specificité
- Recognizes human albumin, a soluble protein which constitutes approximately 50 % of blood serum protein, acting as a regulator of blood colloidal osmotic pressure and hence blood volume. Albumin is also an important transporter of substances within the bloodstream, such as fatty acids, thyroid hormones, metal ions and steroids. Is suitable for use in turbidimetry. The turbidimetric titer can be determined by employing a series of doubling dilutions of the antisera with a standard concentration of the antigen (1 mg/mL), and monitoring the antigen: antibody complex formation by measurement of OD at 492 nm.
