Background: This gene encodes a member of the secretoglobin family of small secreted proteins. Defects in this gene are associated with a susceptibility to asthma. Binds phosphatidylcholine, phosphatidylinositol, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB) and weakly progesterone.
