    Sujet

Background: Prenyltransferases can attach either a farnesyl group or a geranylgeranyl group in thioether linkage to the cysteine residue of proteins with a C-terminal CAAX box. CAAX geranylgeranyltransferase and CAAX farnesyltransferase are heterodimers that share the same alpha subunit but have different beta subunits. This gene encodes the alpha subunit of these transferases. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Related pseudogenes have been identified on chromosomes 11 and 13.

Aliases: CAAX farnesyltransferase alpha subunit antibody, CAAX farnesyltransferase subunit alpha antibody, EC 2.5.1.58 antibody, EC 2.5.1.59 antibody, Farnesyl protein transferase alpha subunit antibody, Farnesyltransferase CAAX box alpha antibody, Farnesyltransferase, CAAX box, alpha antibody, Fnta antibody, FNTA_HUMAN antibody, FPTA antibody, FTase alpha antibody, FTase-alpha antibody, GGTase I alpha antibody, GGTase-I-alpha antibody, MGC99680 antibody, OTTHUMP00000229206 antibody, OTTHUMP00000229262 antibody, PGGT1A antibody, Protein farnesyltransferase/geranylgeranyltransferase type I alpha subunit antibody, Protein farnesyltransferase/geranylgeranyltransferase type-1 subunit alpha antibody, Protein prenyltransferase alpha subunit repeat containing 2 antibody, PTAR2 antibody, Ras proteins prenyltransferase alpha antibody, Ras proteins prenyltransferase subunit alpha antibody, Type I protein geranyl geranyltransferase alpha subunit antibody, Type I protein geranyl-geranyltransferase subunit alpha antibody
