Also regulates cytochrome-c oxidase assembly (COX) and mitochondrial respiration. Binding to sphingoid 1-phosphate (SPP) modulates its regulator activity. Has a key role of mitophagy receptor involved in targeting mitochondria for autophagic degradation.
