Sujet
- TXNDC4/ERp44/KIAA0573 was identified via its interaction with Erol-Lalpha, which in turn has been shown to regulate oxidative protein folding by selectively oxidizing protein disulfide isomerase. TXNDC4 is induced during ER stress and forms mixed disulfides with both hEROs and cargo folding intermediates. Over expression has been shown to alter the equilibrium of the different Ero1-Lalpha redox isoforms suggesting that TXNDC4 may be involved in the control of oxidative protein folding. It has also been suggested that TXNDC4 senses the environment in the ER lumen because it modulates IP3R1 (1,4,5-triphosphate receptor type 1) activity thereby regulating cytosolic calcium concentrations and intraluminal conditions.Synonyms: Endoplasmic reticulum resident protein ERp44, KIAA0573, Thioredoxin domain-containing protein 4
