Application Note: Tris-Glycine running buffer is suitable for laboratory involved in protein biochemistry. This product is a 10X concentrated stock solution and should be diluted appropriately with distilled, deionized water (or equivalent) to its final working concentration. No  pH adjustment is required. 10X Tris-Glycine Running Buffer consists of 0.2 M Tris HCl, 1.5 M Glycine),  pH 8.0.  Meticulously prepared using ultra-pure reagents dissolved in highly polished pharmaceutical grade deionized water.

Background: Tris-Glycine Running Gel buffer without SDS (sodium dodecyl sulfate) for polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, describes a technique widely used in biochemistry to separate proteins according to their electrophoretic mobility (a function of the length of a polypeptide chain and its charge) and no other physical feature. SDS is an anionic detergent applied to protein sample to linearize proteins and to impart a negative charge to linearized proteins.
