- This human UCP3 peptide sequences is 100 % conserved in long and short form of human UCP3, 88 % in monkey, 78 % in humming bird, 76 % in canine and pig, 70 % in mouse, bovine, hamster, and 64 % in rat UCP3. UCP31-P has no significant homology with UCP1-2 or UCP4-5. This peptide is not suitable for western blot because of its low mol. Wt.

- Précaution d'utilisation
- WARNING: Reagents contain sodium azide. Sodium azide is very toxic if ingested or inhaled. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, or clothing. Wear eye or face protection when handling. If skin or eye contact occurs, wash with copious amounts of water. If ingested or inhaled, contact a physician immediately. Sodium azide yields toxic hydrazoic acid under acidic conditions. Dilute azide-containing compounds in running water before discarding to avoid accumulation of potentially explosive deposits in lead or copper plumbing.

- Sujet
- Uncoupling proteins (UCP1-5) are a family of mitochondria transport proteins that play a critical role in thermoregulatory heat production and maintenance of basal metabolic rate. UCP3 is predicted to contain 6 transmembrane domains. The UCP3S lacks the 6th transmembrane domain and it is only 275 AA long. UCP3 has preferential expression in muscle and it is unaffected by cold acclimation.
