Rfx2 coordinates multiple, distinct gene expression programs in multi-ciliated epithelial cells, regulating genes that control cell movement, ciliogenesis, and cilia function.
Taken together, this study suggests ciliogenic RFX (Montrer RFX1 Kits ELISA) transcription factors regulate FGF-1B promoter activity and the maintenance of F1BGFP(+) NSPCs and GBM-SCs (Montrer TWIST1 Kits ELISA).
We show binding of RFX (Montrer RFX1 Kits ELISA) proteins to an evolutionarily conserved X-box in the ALMS1 (Montrer ALMS1 Kits ELISA) proximal promoter and present evidence that these proteins are responsible for ALMS1 (Montrer ALMS1 Kits ELISA) transcription during growth arrest
novel role for the RFX family of transcription factors as modulators of Ras signalling in epithelial cells.
RFX2 plays a major and specific function in spermiogenesis.
Data show that that Rfx2 is expressed in motile cilia in mouse and zebrafish embryos
RFX2 is potentially an important transcriptional regulator in pachytene spermatocytes; Rfx2 itself is a good candidate to be regulated by A-MYB (Montrer MYBL1 Kits ELISA), which is essential for meiotic progression.
RFX2 may play roles in haploid cells during mouse spermatogenesis
RFX2 is strongly expressed in pachytene spermatocytes, remains high in early round spermatids, and declines only in advance of nuclear condensation. Maximum expression correlates well with the appearance of H1t (Montrer HIST1H1T Kits ELISA).
Rfx2 is most abundantly expressed in tissues rich in highly ciliated cells, such as olfactory sensory neurons, and is predicted to be important to cilia.
Data show that knockdown of Rfx2 results in cilia-defective embryonic phenotypes.
Data show that that Rfx2 is expressed in motile cilia in mouse and zebrafish embryos.
This gene is a member of the regulatory factor X gene family, which encodes transcription factors that contain a highly-conserved winged helix DNA binding domain. The protein encoded by this gene is structurally related to regulatory factors X1, X3, X4, and X5. It is a transcriptional activator that can bind DNA as a monomer or as a heterodimer with other RFX family members. This protein can bind to cis elements in the promoter of the IL-5 receptor alpha gene. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described for this gene, and both variants utilize alternative polyadenylation sites.
