Specificité: Clustered at the fourth leucocyte typing workshop to designation CD59. YTH53.1 reacts with CD59 transfectants. It enhances antibody-mediated lysis by homologous complement and reacts with GPI-linked antigen of 18-20 kDa size which is broadly expressed on human leucocytes and erythrocytes. Putative ligand for CD2.

Immunogène: Human Peripheral Blood T cells. Spleen cells from immunised DA rat fused with the Y3/Ag1.2.3 meloma cell line.

Indications d'application: Flow cytometry: We do not recommend using this antibody in lysed whole blood techniques due to inhibition of staining caused by CD59 expression on erythrocytes.

Sujet: CD59, an LY6 like protein expressed in human lymphoid cells, regulates the action of the complement membrane attack complex on homologous cells. It is a potent inhibitor of the complement membrane attack complex action. It acts by binding to the C8 and/or C9 complements of the membrane attack complex, thereby preventing incorporation of the multiple copies of C9 required for complete formation of the osmolytic pore. This inhibitor appears to be species-specific.
