Specificité: This antiobdy recognises cytochrome c, originally termed Apaf-2, an evolutionarily conserved protein which acts as an essential mitochondrial electron carrier between respirable substrates and oxygen, during aerobic energy production. Clone 2G8 is reported to block the role of cytochrome c as a co-factor in the activation of caspase 9. Removal of sodium azide is recommended prior to use in functional assays
