Sujet
- Background: Tuberous sclerosis 2 protein (TSC2) forms a heterodimer with TSC1 to integrate cellular growth and stress signals. Defects in the TSC1 and TSC2 gene are responsible for the genetic disorder tuberous sclerosis. The TSC1/TSC2 complex functions in the mTOR pathway by negatively regulating mTOR activity via the small GTP-binding protein Rheb. TSC2 also been shown to interact with FOXO1 transcription factor.
