    Sujet

Background: NDE1 (nuclear distribution factor E homolog 1) is important to microtubule organization, mitosis, and cell migration. It is required for the duplication of centrosomes and the function of the mitotic spindle. NDE1 is a binding partner of DISC1 (disrupted-in-schizophrenia 1) along with LIS1 (lissencephaly 1) at the centrosome and at synapses in neurons. It is also part of a multiprotein complex that regulates dynein. The NDE1 gene has been identified as a schizophrenia-associated locus.
