Sujet
- Background: AXL is a receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK) that binds the ligand Gas6 (growth-arrest specific gene). It is part of a sub-family of RTKs that includes AXL, SKY and MER. The AXL gene was first identified as a transforming cDNA isolated from patients with chronic myelogenous leukemia. AXL-Gas6 signaling is implicated in cellular responses such as cell survival, proliferation, migration, and adhesion, and it may be involved in cancer progression.
