Sujet
- B-G11 reacts with D21, a 140 kDa cell surface molecule which acts as a receptor for EBV, for human complement factor C3d (CR2) and for IFN-alpha. It is a glycoprotein, made up of multiple (n=15) Short Consensus Repeats (S.C.R.) sequences. CD21 is expressed strongly on mature B-cells, follicular dendritic cells and weakly on immature thymocytes and T-lymphocytes. In B-cell ontogeny, CD21 appears after the pre-B-stage, is maintained during peripheral B-cell development and is lost upon terminal differentiation into plasma cells. CD21 expression also gradually lost after stimulation of B-cells in vitro. Positive control: Human PBL and tonsil.
