In immunohistochemistrythe monoclonal antibody reacts with epithelial cells of a variety of tissues (alpha-6 beta-4), peripheral nerves, microvascular endothelial cells, and placental syncytiotrophoblasts.Platelet VLA-6 functions as a laminin receptor and thus antibody inhibits platelet adhesion to laminin.
