Formation of LTD4 was rapid when catalyzed by gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase (GGT)1 (Montrer GGT1 Anticorps) in the A549 epithelial lung cancer cell line, but considerably slower when catalyzed by GGT5 in primary bronchial epithelial cells. When A549 cells were cultured in the presence of IL-1beta (Montrer IL1B Anticorps), GGT1 (Montrer GGT1 Anticorps) expression increased about 2-fold. Also exosomes from A549 cells contained GGT1 (Montrer GGT1 Anticorps) and augmented LTD4 formation.
Report different pattern of expression of GGT1 (Montrer GGT1 Anticorps) and GGT5 in normal human tissues.
There is a significant association of GGT (Montrer GGT1 Anticorps) with individual metabolic syndrome components, except HDL (Montrer HSD11B1 Anticorps) and inflammatory parameters (hs-CRP (Montrer CRP Anticorps), ferritin (Montrer FTL Anticorps)).
GGT5/oxidative stress cascade plays a central role during luteinizing hormone-stimulated steroidogenesis.
This gene is a member of a gene family that encodes gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase enzymes. This enzyme consists of a heavy and a light chain, and is able to hydrolyze the gamma-glutamyl moiety of glutathione. It converts leukotriene C4 to leukotriene D4, however, it doesn't convert synthetic substrates that are commonly used to assay gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
