ELISA: To detect hFGF-basic by direct ELISA (using 100 l/well antibody solution) thisantibody can be used at a concentration of 0.15 - 0.30 μg/mL. Used in conjunction withcompatible secondary reagents, allows the detection of at least 0.2 ng/well of recombinanthFGF-basic. Western Blot: To detect hFGF-basic by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at aconcentration of 0.1 - 0.2 μg/mL. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagentsthe detection limit for recombinant hFGF-basic is 1.5 - 3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing ornon-reducing conditions.
Other applications not tested.

- Sujet
- FGF basic (FGF2) is a member of the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family. FGF family members bind heparin and possess broad mitogenic and angiogenic activities. FGF2 is involved in diverse biological processes, such as limb and nervous system development, wound healing, and tumor growth. FGF2 mRNA contains multiple polyadenylation sites, and is alternatively translated from AUG and non-AUG (CUG) initiation codons resulting in five different isoforms with distinct properties. The CUG-initiated isoforms are localized in the nucleus and are responsible for the intracrine effect, whereas, the AUG-initiated form is mostly cytosolic and is responsible for the paracrine and autocrine effects of this FGF.Synonyms: BFGF, FGFB, Fibroblast growth factor 2 (basic), HBGF-2, HBGF2, Heparin-binding growth factor 2
