- Sujet
- Destrin (actin depolymerizing factor), also known as DSTN, is a member of the ADF/Cofilin/destrin superfamily that has the ability to rapidly depolymerize F-Actin in a stoichiometric manner. DSTN is a small phosphoinositide-sensitive actin-binding protein capable of depolymerizing actin-filaments in vitro. It is found in various epithelial and endothelial cells but is practically absent from adult mouse heart and skeletal muscle cells. DSTN shares 71% sequence homology with Cofilin, however the two proteins differ in their interaction with Actin. Recombinant human DSTN protein, fused to His-tag at C-terminus, was expressed in E.coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
