iPLA2gamma plays an important role in in vivo Thromboxane A2 production accompanied by thrombus formation.
iPLA2gamma plays a cardioprotective role during the acute stage of Chagas' disease.
Thus, complement-mediated activation of iPLA(2)gamma is mediated via ERK (Montrer EPHB2 Protéines) and p38 (Montrer CRK Protéines) pathways, and phosphorylation of Ser (Montrer SIGLEC1 Protéines)-511 and/or Ser (Montrer SIGLEC1 Protéines)-515 plays a key role in the catalytic activity and signaling of iPLA(2)gamma.
These results suggest distinct roles for iPLA2beta (Montrer PLA2G6 Protéines) and iPLA2gamma in cellular homeostasis and signaling, a functional link between peroxisomal AA release and eicosanoid generation, and a potential contribution of iPLA2gamma to tumorigenesis.
iPLA2 (Montrer PLA2G6 Protéines) activation is not sufficient for SOCE activation. iPLA2 (Montrer PLA2G6 Protéines) may regulate basal phosphoinositide metabolism
over-expression of PNPLA8 dramatically decreases hepatic steatosis through increased autophagy in hepatocytes of high-fat diet-fed mice
these results demonstrate the integrated roles of Cardiolipin and iPLA2gamma in lipid second-messenger production and mitochondrial bioenergetics during oxidative stress.
Because mitochondrial membrane depolarization and calcium are known to activate iPLA2gamma, these results are consistent with salvage of myocardium after Ischemia/Reperfusion by iPLA2gamma loss of function through decreasing mPTP (Montrer PTPN2 Protéines) opening, diminishing production of proinflammatory oxidized fatty acids
UCP2 (Montrer UCP2 Protéines), functional due to fatty acids released by redox-activated mt-iPLA2gamma, suppresses mitochondrial superoxide production by its uncoupling action.
Mitochondrial dysfunction and reduced prostaglandin synthesis in skeletal muscle of Group VIB (Montrer SEMA6B Protéines) Ca2 (Montrer CA2 Protéines)+-independent phospholipase A2gamma-deficient mice
iPLA(2)beta (Montrer PLA2G6 Protéines) and iPLA(2 (Montrer PLA2G6 Protéines))gamma are required for the adipogenic program that drives resting 3T3-L1 cells into adipocytes after hormone stimulation
iPLA2 (Montrer PLA2G6 Protéines) signaling plays an important role in glucose-stimulated insulin (Montrer INS Protéines) secretion under physiological conditions
iPLA(2 (Montrer PLA2G6 Protéines))gamma is essential for maintaining efficient bioenergetic mitochondrial function through tailoring mitochondrial membrane lipid metabolism and composition
the obligatory role of iPLA(2 (Montrer PLA2G6 Protéines))gamma in neuronal mitochondrial lipid metabolism and membrane structure demonstrating that iPLA(2 (Montrer PLA2G6 Protéines))gamma loss of function results in a mitochondrial neurodegenerative disorder
This gene encodes a member of the patatin-like phospholipase domain containing protein family. Members of this family are phospholipases which catalyze the cleavage of fatty acids from membrane phospholipids. The product of this gene is a calcium-independent phospholipase. A pseudogene of this gene is located on the X chromosome. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
