- Sujet
- Myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG) is found on the surface of myelinating oligodendrocytes and external lamellae of myelin sheaths in the central nervous system. MOG is a minor component of the myelin sheath and is implicated in completion and maintenance of the myelin sheath and in cell-cell communication. MOG is found exclusively in the CNS, where it is localized on the surface of myelin and oligodendrocyte cytoplasmic membranes, peak expression has been observed between postnatal days 15 and 25, coincident with the period of active myelination.Synonyms: Myelin-oligodendrocyte glycoprotein
