    Specificité

Biological Activity: Activity Range is measured in a proliferation assay using TF-1 indicator cells at 10^5 cells/ml
    Specific Activity: 0.5 - 3.0 x 10^8 Unit /mg
    ED50: 30- 200 pg/ml
    Observed dose response: 50 fold.
Unit is defined as the amount of material required to stimulate a half-maximal response at cytokine saturation.
Note: Since applications vary, each investigator should titrate the reagent to obtain optimal results.

    Attributs du produit

Recombinant human Interleukin-6 is supplied as a frozen liquid comprised of 0.22 µm filtered aqueous buffered solution, pH 7.2, 10% glycerol and containing 2 mg/ml biotechnology grade, low endotoxin bovine serum albumin, with no preservatives. Human IL-6 was purified by immunoaffinity chromatography and was found to be > 95% pure by SDS-PAGE analysis, and an absorbance assay based on the Beers-Lambert law.

  • Indications d'application

ELISA Standard: Recombinant human IL-6 is useful as a quantitative standard for measuring human IL-6 protein levels in an IL-6 specific sandwich ELISA with purified MQ2-13A5 antibody as a capture antibody (Cat. No. 554543) and the biotinylated MQ2-39C3 (Cat. No. 554546) as the detection antibody. To obtain linear standard curves, doubling dilutions of this human IL-6 standard from 2000-15 pg/ml should be included in each ELISA plate. To measure human IL-6 in plasma or serum please use our Human IL-6 BD OptEIA™ set, (Cat. No. 555220) or the Human IL-6 BD OptEIA™ Kit II (Cat. No. 550799).
Ligand Blocking Control for Immunofluorescent Staining of Cytokines: Recombinant human IL-6 can be used as a blocking control to demonstrate specificity of IL-6 staining by the FITC- or PE-MQ2-13A5 antibodies (Cat. No. 554544, 554545), or the FITC- or PE-MQ2-6A3 antibodies (Cat. No. 554696, 554697). The intracellular cytokine staining technique and use of blocking controls are described in detail by C. Prussin and D. Metcalfe.

Interleukin-6 (IL-6) is a potent lymphoid cell growth factor which affects B lymphocytes, T lymphocytes, and hybridoma cells. It will also affect cytotoxic T cells in combination with other factors, such as IL-2 and interferon-γ. Human IL-6 is a 20.5 kD protein containing 184 amino acid residues.
