Reconstitution: Centrifuge the tube before opening. Reconstituting to a concentration more than 100 μg/mL is recommended. Dissolve the lyophilized protein in distilled water.

Buffer: Lyophilized from 0.22μm filtered solution in PBS ( pH 7.4). Normally 8 % trehalose is added as protectant before lyophilization.

Sujet: Periostin is a matricellular protein that is expressed in several tissues during embryonic development, however, its expression in adults is mostly restricted to collagen-rich connective tissues. Periostin is expressed only briefly during kidney development, but it is not normally detected in the adult kidney. Recent evidence has revealed that periostin is aberrantly expressed in several forms of chronic kidney disease (CKD), and that its expression correlates with the degree of interstitial fibrosis and the decline in renal function.

Poids moléculaire: 88.7 kDa. Due to glycosylation, the protein migrates to 90-95 kDa based on Tris-Bis PAGE result.
