Sujet
- HRAS, also known as GTPase HRas, belongs to the Ras family which function in signal transduction pathways. This protein can bind GTP and GDP, and it has intrinsic GTPase activity. HRAS undergoes a continuous cycle of de- and re-palmitoylation, which regulates its rapid exchange between the plasma membrane and the Golgi apparatus. It also may play a role in regulating the kinetics of signaling in the phototransduction cascade. Defects in HRAS are implicated in a variety of cancers, including bladder cancer, follicular thyroid cancer, and oral squamous cell carcinoma. Recombinant human HRAS protein was expressed in E. coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
