- Fonction
- Cdc2 is a protein encoded by the CDK1 gene which is approximately 34,1 kDa. Cdc2 is localised to the nucleus, cytoplasm and mitochondrion. It is involved in transport of the SLBP independent mature mRNA and DNA damage response. It is a catalytic subunit of the highly conserved protein kinase complex known as M-phase promoting factor, which is essential for G1/S and G2/M phase transitions of eukaryotic cell cycle. Mitotic cyclins associate with this protein and function as regulatory subunits. The kinase activity of this protein is controlled by cyclin accumulation and destruction through the cell cycle. Cdc2 is expressed in the skin, intestine, blood, bone marrow and liver. Mutations in the CDK1 gene may result in breast cancer and cervical cancer. STJ92154 was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. This polyclonal antibody detects endogenous levels of Cdc2 protein.
