Sujet
I.Ba protein is a NF-.B inhibitory protein. It binds NF-.B, retains the complex in the cytoplasma, prevents it from entering nuclear and functioning as a transcription factor. Upon receiving a variety of signals, I.Ba undergoes phosphorylation at serine residues by a ubiquitin-dependent protein kinases and finally degraded by the proteasome. Free NF-.B then binds to DNA and affects gene expression 1,2.
