- Sujet
- STAT6 is a 94 kD member of the STAT (signal transducer and activator of transcription) protein family that is phosphorylated in response to cytokine receptor-associated kinase activity. Phosphorylation of STAT6 induces nuclear translocation to activate transcription. STAT6 is expressed in olfactory cells, bronchial epithelium, adrenal gland, B cells, mast cells, Wilm's tumors and some solid tumors. STAT6 forms homo- and heterotrimers and has been shown to be important in IL-4 mediated biological responses, the induction of Bcl-2 and Bcl-XL, and may also be involved in TH2 differentiation and immunoglobulin class switching. STAT6 is phosphorylated in response to IL-4, IL-13, IL-3 and has been shown to interact with nuclear co-activator 1 (NCOA1), the CREB binding SRC-1 protein, and p300/CBP. Synonyms: Anti-signal transducer and activator of transcription 2, anti-interferon alpha induced transcriptional activator.
